Audio Assignments
Choose one assignment a week to complete by Monday, 4 PM. You may only complete each assignment once.
Analyze a Podcast
Find a podcast from NPR, iTunes, or an alternative site. Listen to the podcast and take notes. Analyze the podcast and record yourself responding to the discussion.
Create a Podcast
Find a topic of discussion and record yourself discussing the issue at large. Bonus points if you have a guest commentator or faux "call-in" to discuss the issue with you. Submit your podcast link or recorded material.
AutoTune the News
Take an audio recording of the news from any channel or radio station and autotune it using an online autotune generator site.
The Voice
Don LaFontaine was legendary for hos deep voiceover intros to movie trailers ("In a world..."). Make a recording that uses his style that describes something ordinary or everyday. See the TV tropes listing for ideas or expressions or model it after one of the thousands of examples he left out there -- see his video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QPMvj_xejg If you lack The Voice naturally, use your audi editor's shift pitch tools to deepen it.
Rap Battle
Make a rap! Take an existing rap and use the instrumental version of the song to recreate your own lyrics, or make up some music, record it, and rap over it. It could be a well known song, or something of your own creation. Be creative!
One-Man Play
Act out a scene from a play by yourself, using different voices for different characters and record into a .mp3 file.
Jingle Jangle
Write a jingle about a product that you like and then find audio beats that match the jingle's lyrics. Record yourself or someone else singing your jingle and save into a .mp3 file. Extra points if you use an instrument.
